How Oriental Medicine Has Helped Mihdi
Born in 1997, undergoing surgery for a congenital heart disorder and diagnosed with fluid on his brain as an infant, and then diagnosed with Progressive Kyphoscoliosis in 1999 and a failure to thrive, Mihdi Brock is alive and thriving today thanks to alternatives to the Western medical approach, primarily Oriental medicine. What are the measurements that show his progress? Can it be anticipated that others with any number of various disorders and conditions could expect similar results?
Well, the fact is that Mihdi has made enormous progress over these years when it was felt by the Western doctors from his early years that he might not walk, or talk, indeed that he might not survive after his 10th birthday. Medical reports based on periodic x-rays, MRIs and CAT-scans are available for the perusal of medical professionals who might be interested in reviewing these materials in the interest of pursuing alternative modes of treatment for their patients.
While Dr. Boalin Wu, the imminent Doctor of Oriental medicine who is Mihdi's primary treating doctor describes Mihdi's condition as being a "very complicated case,  and he says that "there are very few human beings with as complicated a condition," we can see from the photo collection below the amazing distance that Mihdi has come under Dr. Wu's care.
In these early photos, it is easy to see that Mihdi's growth was disproportionate between various parts of his body, and the spinal curvature is clearly visible. Mihdi was never a typical chubby baby; he failed to thrive.
These x-rays are from the same time period. As he grew, so the curvature grew and continued to progress until treatment intervention slowed the process.
There has been change; there has been growth; there has been improvement at a level that is nothing short of remarkable. Yet, the effort can never be let up; each and every day of his life, Mihdi must work hard just to maintain, and harder still if he wants to make progress. His rigorous treatment programs must be followed until he is at least 17 or 18, and even then, more time may be required. He will need to focus on achieving health and life for the entirety of his life; he will never be able to take having life for granted. He will need our support for many years to come.
From a teeny tot who tired easily and had to be carried most of the time, to a boy who can hang out in treetops from time to time, with the medical support of Oriental medicine and the financial support of so many people, Mihdi has come quite a ways, and he will, hopefully, go a long way further.
